Pearl M. Dohner, 88, formerly of Penryn, and a resident of Luther Acres Retirement Community, Lititz, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Ephrata, and a Ephrata High School graduate; she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Maude Killian Miller. For over twenty-three years Pearl worked for the Manheim Central School District in the Senior High Cafeteria retiring in 1984. She was the loving wife of the late Cyrus S. Dohner who died in March of 1994. She was a faithful and active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Penryn; where she served on church council and was a Sunday school teacher. Her interests included: sewing and quilting. Pearl was an avid reader and excellent cook; she had a life-long passion for her family, and was a special mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Pearl will be lovingly missed by close friends. Surviving is a daughter, Linda Schluben of Shawnee, Kansas, two grandsons: Robert A. husband of Karen Schluben, William M. husband of Debbie Schluben, four great grandchildren, a sister Helen wife of Harold Snader of Bareville and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is a brother, Carl A. Miller, and a sister, Dorothy Lausch. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church 1258 Newport Road, Penryn, PA., on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend David T. Hinkley officiating. Interment is in Penryn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
