Pearl A. Emlet, 89, formerly of Wrightsville, died peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. Born in Mummasburg, Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Viola Kane Wilson. Pearl worked as a secretary for the Department of Labor and Industry in Harrisburg for many years. She was the wife of Glen L. Emlet who died in December of 1999. She was a member of the Arendtsville Church Of God and graduated from the Arendtsville High School where she played basketball and received a varsity letter. She was a member of the 42nd Rainbow Division Veterans Auxillary and served as its national president. Pearl volunteered at Lancaster General Susquehanna, Columbia. Pearl was an avid bingo player; her other interests included: fishing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving is a son, Rodney E. husband of Barbie Emlet of Wrightsville, a daughter, Jane E. wife of Mervin D. Bortner of Manheim, five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and a sister, Rheda Martin of Gettysburg. Preceding her in death is a granddaughter, Brianna Emlet, three brothers, Melvin, Bruce, and Sterling Wilson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, PA on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment is in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens York, PA. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
