Paul Saylor Groff,81, of Manheim passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 7, 2017. Born in Manheim he was the son of the late Elmer and Alverta Saylor Groff. Paul worked as a custodian for the Lititz Church of the Brethren for 23 years before retiring at the age of 65. He also worked at Bond Foundry and Fuller Foundry prior to retirement. He was the loving husband of Pauline E. (Shertzer) Groff. Paul was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Manheim. He enjoyed gardening and repairing cars.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Pauline, are four children, Perry S. husband of Twila Groff of Rothsville, Philip S. husband of Serena Groff of Denver, Priscilla S. Groff of Manheim, Patricia S. Groff of Phoenix, AZ, six grandchildren, a brother, Rufus S. Groff of Manheim, two sisters, Verna wife of Carl Wolf and Naomi Hummer both of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Groff.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Paul’s funeral service at Hernley Mennonite Church, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM. There will be a public viewing at Hernley Mennonite Church on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. till 8:30 P.M. There will be additional viewing at the church on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17604-4125.
