Paul Rodger Hemond

Paul Rodger Hemond, age 65, of Lititz passed away on September 20, 2023 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Altoona, PA, he was the son of the late Rodger M. and Pauline J. Hemond, and the loving husband of Susanna (Sue) Hemond for forty years. A 1975 graduate of Altoona Area High School, he attended Penn State Altoona campus. Paul was employed many years as a route driver/sales manager for UniFirst Corporation and later employed by Advanced Food Products. Paul was passionate about listening to music, getting outdoors for rides on his mobility scooter, watching Steelers' games, and taking his beloved Jack Russel, Ozzy, to the Mount Joy dog park. He enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Europe, Florida and yearly vacations to the shore were a pleasure, too. Paul was a most caring, kind, and loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed. He cherished his grandchildren and had looked forward to spending more time with them. Working with a Methodist Church group in North Carolina restoring homes after hurricane damage, was a treasured experience for him. He very much desired to continue volunteering, but health issues prohibited.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Michael M. Hemond, husband of Anise Hemond of Souderton, PA; grandchildren, Rhodes W. Hemond and twins, Bridger D. and Ottilie S. Hemond; sisters, Marie Lutchko (Lenny) of Glastonbury, CT, Marge Rockwell of Charleston, SC, and Liz Hemond (Chet Finnegan) of Imler, PA, brother-in-law, Glenn Stoltzfus of Lititz, PA, also nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Paul’s Funeral Service from the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Paul’s memory to Mennonite Disaster Service, 583 Airport Road, Lititz, PA 17543 or to a charity of one’s choice.
