Can one easily cook and serve a gourmet meal of love and laughter for a multitude of people? Patsy Miller was a special person who did just this. Several of her favorite recipes were fried practical jokes, baked wonderful picnic gatherings, pickled fun game nights, and much more. She served all of these fine recipes with a smile for her friends.
Her favorite dessert, rated as 5 stars, was her marriage with Donald Miller, which marinated for 65 years. The special ingredients for this recipe included tenderness, empathy, (lots of) patience, and understanding. All these complemented and completed the ingredients that Don offered to the dessert. Her dessert was served with a sweet (and some say bitter) sauce of sons, Mark (Nicole) Miller and Brad (Sara) Miller, which was slow-cooked with kickball, camping, and beach vacations. Her sweet dessert was plated beautifully with the additions of grandchildren Ashton, Jordan, Piper, and Koen. Lastly, the jokers that served entertainment for Patsy’s meals were her remaining sister Jane Starr, sisters preceded in death, Nancy Patton, Harriet Bell, and Emma Nissley, nieces and nephews, friends, Trinity members, and many more.
Patsy Starr Miller, 85, was born to the late Herman and Maude Wilkes Starr on January 20, 1940. She danced through life and into the eternal love of God in heaven on March 12, 2025 surrounded by love and laughter from family, friends, and amazing caregivers at her home in Manheim, PA. Pat was a head cook at Centerville, East Petersburg, and Rohrerstown Elementary. She found great peace at Trinity UCC, with flowers, birds, books, and sunsets!
All those who know her have her recipes of love and laughter, and she hopes they continually make those recipes!
There will be a Celebration of Patsy’s Life in the near future. Details will be announced once plans have been established. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
