Patricia A. Hartman, 68, of Leola, and formerly of Manheim, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 21, 2013. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna Mary Bender Ellmaker. A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Frederick Hartman who died in September of 1996. Pat’s interests included flower gardening and embroidery. She loved all animals, and she especially had abundant affection for her two beloved cats Misty and Lana. Pat dedicated her whole life to her family; providing child care for multiple generations of nieces and nephews and helping her extended family of brothers and sisters in any way she could as a humble servant. She gave of herself and loved to be around children of any age.
Surviving is a daughter, Tina wife of Kevin Weaver of Columbia, a son, Frederick Jr. husband of Jennifer Hartman of Altoona, six grandchildren, two great grandsons, five brothers: Donald Ellmaker companion of Mary Ann Barnes of Manheim, Fred Jr. husband of Theresa Ellmaker, Kenneth husband of Carol Ellmaker all of East Petersburg, Barry husband of Cathy Ellmaker of Mount Joy, Ronald Ellmaker of Manheim, two sisters: Kay Yockey of Lititz, and Sue wife of John Lutchkus of Leola. Preceding her in death is a son, Benjamin Hartman, a grandson, Frederick Mathew Hartman, a sister, Sarah Jane Ellmaker, and a brother, Connia Lee “Smokey” Ellmaker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM. There will be no viewing. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
