Patricia Ann Dissinger, 75, of Manheim, went to her eternal resting place on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Mount Hope, she was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Hilda Dissinger Dissinger.
Patricia was first employed at her father’s grocery store, Dissinger’s Food Market, and later Don’s News Agency. Following that, she was employed by the Manheim Central School District for many years as a custodian, obtaining the position of high school head custodian before retiring.
Patricia was a long-time, active and faithful member of Hope Episcopal Church, Mount Hope, serving as Sunday School teacher, sexton, altar guild, vestry person, and Junior Warden. She served her church by organizing covered dish luncheons, and Lenten suppers as well. Patricia also had a card ministry, sending birthday and get well cards to church members, and bulletins to those who could not attend church. She was beloved by all in her church for her kind and gentle spirit. She was lovingly given the nickname, “Saint Patricia” by her Priest.
Patricia enjoyed cooking for her family and enjoyed watching birds at the feeders outside her home. She enjoyed flower gardening and was a loyal Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and 76ers fan. Her hobbies included crocheting, and collecting gnomes, snowmen and owls.
She is survived by two brothers, Albert W. “Bud” Dissinger and his wife Donna, and David D. Dissinger and his wife Amy, both of Manheim, and two nieces, Deanne Dissinger of Philadelphia, and Amelia Dissinger of Manheim.
