Nora M. Myer, 100, formerly of Newport Road, Lititz, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim after several years of declining health. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Phares and Clara Minnich Graybill. She married Earl L. Myer in 1938 and they farmed together until his death in November of 1955. Nora continued farming until 1963 when she moved off the farm and her sons took over the operation. She received a full-time job at Brethren Village and worked to food service supervisor position, retiring after 15 years. Following retirement she then worked another 10 years part-time at Minnich's Farm Bakery in Lititz. Nora was a member of the White Oak Church of the Brethren, where she was active in the sewing circle. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, knitting, and quilting. She made a quilt and an afghan for each of her children and grandchildren. She was the happiest when her hands were busy: volunteering at Manheim Meals on Wheels, Transport for Christ, Church of the Brethren relief organizations, making and donating many quilts to local benefit auctions. Surviving are three children; a daughter, Dolores wife of John R. Ebersole of Manheim, two sons: Carl husband of Dorothy Waltz Myer and John husband of Judy Rohrer Myer all of Lititz, 9 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. Preceding her in death is a grandson, Gregory Scott Myer, a great grandson, Kyle Wagner, two sisters: Sue Sensenich and Mary Myer, and two brothers: Earl and Hiram Graybill. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the White Oak Church of the Brethren 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Graybills Brethren Cemetery, Elm. There will be a viewing at the White Oak Church of the Brethren on Tuesday evening from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM with additional viewing on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
