Nevin O. Garner, 80, of Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Moravian Manor. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Victor and Marie Ober Garner. Nevin was the loving husband of Carol Miller Garner and they observed their 59th wedding anniversary in October of this year. Nevin retired from Elizabethtown College as the Associate Director of Database Support in January 2001 after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill. Nevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family in Eagles Mere. He had a life-long passion for his family and he devoted his life to spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Carol are three sons: Kevin D. husband of Kellie Garner of Palmyra, Randall E. Garner of Lititz, Jeffrey A. husband of Kim Garner of Manheim, a daughter, Holly J. wife of David Holsinger of Manheim, eight grandchildren: Jared, Colin, Tom, Abby, Stephanie, Tim, Ben, Katy, two brothers: Fred husband of Carolyn Garner and Dale husband of Sharon Garner all of Lititz and a sister-in-law, Barbara Garner of Manheim. Preceding him in death is a brother, Gary Garner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Nevin’s memorial service at the Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill, 26 Owl Hill Road, Lititz, on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service at the church on Friday morning. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery.
