Nevin K. “Mac” McMullen, 62, of Manheim, and formerly of Palmyra, and the Hershey area, passed away after a long illness on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Hershey Medical Center. Born in Derry Township, he was the son of the late, P. Richard and Ruth Stehman McMullen. Nevin worked for Hershey Foods for over 27 years mostly at the old Hershey plant in several departments: steel rolls, longitude, and syrup; and worked as a handyman with home and business projects and repairs locally. He was the loving husband of Grace Ann Herr McMullen and they observed their 38th wedding anniversary in October of this year. Nevin was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim. He was a 1970 graduate from Hershey Vocational School. Nevin was a member for 15 years with the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company and Hershey Volunteer Ambulance. He enjoyed working with his hands, doing lawn work, maintenance repairs, and helping anyone in need.
Surviving in addition to his wife Grace Ann, is a daughter, Faith Ann McMullen, two brothers, Edward McMullen of Elizabethtown, Carl husband of Laurie McMullen of Hummelstown, and a sister, Nancy. Preceding him in death was a brother, P. Richard McMullen Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Nevin’s Life Celebration Service at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 50 North Main Street, Manheim, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday afternoon 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers.
