Nelson H. Hoffer

Nelson H. Hoffer, 67, of Manheim passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Amos H. and Grace Haldeman Hoffer. Nelson owned and operated Hoffer’s Roofing Service, Manheim for many years. He enjoyed hunting, softball, bowling and watching football.
Surviving is a daughter, Nicole Hoffer of Manheim, his former wife, Patricia Kline, who was a loyal friend and companion during his latter days; two brothers, John husband of Shirley Hoffer of Lancaster, Mark husband of Jonna Hoffer of Manheim, a sister, Lois wife of Ronald Long of Manheim and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Merkey, Nancy Krall and two brothers, Clair and Paul Hoffer.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Nelson’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
