Naomi K. Witmer, 84, of Manheim, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 3, 2015. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Ruth Kulp Mumma. She was the loving wife of Harold F. Witmer and they observed their 64th Wedding Anniversary in November of last year. For many years Naomi worked along-side her husband and children on the family farm. She was a member of the East Petersburg Mennonite Church. Naomi enjoyed spending time in the mountains in Tioga County. A great homemaker throughout her life, Naomi loved sewing, cooking, baking, freezing and canning foods.
Surviving in addition to her husband Harold, are two sons: Harold Jr. husband of Nancy Witmer of Elizabethtown, James Witmer of Pine Grove, a daughter, Rachel wife of Jay Hilsher of Manheim, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a brother, David husband of Marian Mumma of Pine Grove. Preceding her in death is a son, Leon Witmer, and two sisters: Esther Heisey and Martha Groff.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg, on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
