Nancy W. Geary, 81, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Jeanette Wilson.
She graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School and was a Quality Control Engineer for R.R. Donnelley Printing until her retirement in 2001.
Nancy was a member of the Church of the Apostles U.C.C., social member of the American Legion Post 64, and Rainmakers Association, all in Lancaster.
A loving and supportive mother and grandmother, she was quick to insist on the use of proper grammar in her home and she knew how to spell almost any word. Nancy had a vast collection of cook books and loved to cook and try new recipes. She loved murder mysteries, crossword puzzles and sewing.
She is survived by her sons, Garth Geary, partner of Robert Huey of Clinton Township, MI, Jason Geary, partner of Carl Smith of Lancaster, Ryan O’Neal Geary of Marietta and eight grandchildren. She is now reunited with her daughter, Jessica Newborg, four sisters and two brothers, who preceded her in death.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA. In celebration of Nancy’s life and St. Patrick’s Day, please wear something green for the service.
