Miriam N. Mumma, 75, of Elizabethtown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday December 2, 2012 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. She was the wife of Stanley K. Mumma, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage this past March. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Ella (Poorman) Farner. Miriam was the general manager for many years at the former Clearview Diner of Elizabethtown. She was a graduate of Middletown High School class of 1955. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of Elizabethtown. In her earlier years Miriam enjoyed raising horses, breeding dogs and gardening. Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Stanley K. Jr. of Leola, Leonard D. husband of Susan Mumma of Bainbridge, Terry L. husband of Ruth Mumma of Mount Joy; a daughter Judy L. (Mumma) Eshleman of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; a brother Guy, Jr. husband of Faye Farner of Manchester; and two sisters, Kathryn Snavely of Highspire, and Patsy wife of Donald Christ of Marietta. She was preceded in death by two brothers Sam and Donald; and two sisters Jeanie Farner and Lois Fallinger. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service from the Elizabethtown Grace Brethren Church, 305 Anchor Road, Elizabethtown, PA on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be in West Green Tree Church of the Brethren Cemetery. There will be a public visitation with the family at the Heilig Funeral Home, 21 W. Main St. Mount Joy, on Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. There will be no viewing at church.
