Mildred K. “Millie” Metzler, 92, of Lititz, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at UPMC Lititz following a brief illness. Born in Millbach, she was the daughter of the late William and Amy Kline Dinger. Millie was the loving wife of the late Robert H. Metzler who died in June of 1991. In her early years, Millie worked for the Lititz Paper Mill; she continued her employment with Warner-Lambert which became the Pfizer Company in Lititz for over 43 years until her retirement. She attended Lititz Church of The Brethren and taught Sunday school. Her interests included sewing, attending auctions, visiting Flea Markets, flower and vegetable gardening, and going out to eat with her friends.
Surviving is a son, Michael P. Metzler of Manheim, twin granddaughters: Kelsey Metzler of Lititz, Kirstin Metzler of Manheim, a brother, Roy K. husband of Helen Dinger of Ephrata and sister-in-law, Erla Dinger of Manheim. Preceding her in death is a daughter-in-law, Sharon L. Metzler, two sisters: Beatrice Mull, Elizabeth Haldeman, and a brother, Paul Dinger.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Middle Creek Church Cemetery, Lititz. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Millie's memory to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
