Mildred L. Worden

Mildred L. Worden, 94, of East Petersburg passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Stewart C. and Elizabeth Rotharpt Haggerty. She was the wife of the late John W. Worden who died in 2011. Mildred was a homemaker and in her earlier years, she was a waitress, receptionist, painter, and photographer. Mildred graduated from Reading High School in 1939 and she was a devoted member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, East Petersburg. Her interests included crocheting and Arts. Mildred loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family in Forksville, PA.
Surviving are three sons, Barry R. husband of Polly Fair of Indiana, Marshall L. husband of Cathie Fair of Lancaster, John S. husband of Brenda Worden of Landisville, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a brother, Stewart husband of Donna Haggerty of Devon, PA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Zeiber.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, 6067 Carpenter Street, East Petersburg on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
