Michael Stephen Sobeck

Michael Stephen Sobeck, 77, of Manheim, passed lovingly into God’s hands on Monday, November 11, 2024 at his home, surrounded by family. He was the husband of Judith L. (Cota) Sobeck. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 9, 2024. Born in Hazelton on November 18, 1946, he was the son of the late Michael A. and Agnes E. (Polchin) Sobeck.

Michael was a graduate of Penn State University receiving his B.S. in engineering and received his M.B.A. from Lebanon Valley College. He was an electrical engineer and operating manager for PP&L for 36 years.

He was a member of the Rotary Club, the Beagle Club, Ham Radio Club and was a member of the Elstonville and Manheim Sportsman’s Clubs. Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, collecting knives, his dogs, making wine, wood working and tying flies for fly fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kristen Sobeck of Pottstown, Michelle (Sobeck) married to Timothy Stone of Williamsburg, and their children, Emma C. and Mariellen G. Stone and Christopher S. married to Lindsey (Brandt) Sobeck of Mount Joy and their children, Kaelyn R. and Carson M. Sobeck. He was preceded in death by, a brother Eugene J. Sobeck and a sister Anne McCabe.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Michael’s Graveside Service at Manheim Fairview Cemetery, 98 West Sun Hill Road, Manheim on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the American Heart Association.
