Michael L. Hollinger, 68, of Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by his family and close friends on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Theodore H. and Anna Mae Miller Hollinger. Mike was the loving husband of Beverly L. Graybill Hollinger and they observed their 46th wedding anniversary in December of last year. Mike received an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Thompson Institute, Harrisburg. In 2011 Mike retired from Heil Trailer International, Lancaster, where he was employed for over 42 years serving in many positions including Regional Sales Manager. Following retirement he continued to work as a consultant for the Heil Company. In his early years Mike served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim, and the Manheim American Legion. For the past several years Mike was a valued, faithful member, and volunteer for the Manheim Historical Society as the facilities manager for all the buildings cared for by the organization. A life-long passion for cars, trucks, and anything on wheels led Mike to spend hours working on cars and participating in drag racing in his younger days. He was a member of the Porsche Club of America. Other interests included: performing any type of yard work, designing unique landscaping, and rooting for his Philadelphia Phillies Baseball team. Mike had experience and knowledge to be able to fix anything; he would always be willing to help out a friend in need. His caring heart and devotion to his family and friends was known by all.
Surviving in addition to his wife Bev, is a daughter Jennifer L. Hollinger fiancée of Robert K. “Bob” Dyer of Lancaster, who Mike was especially close to and thought of Bob as a son, a granddaughter, Molly Dyer who filled Mike’s heart with so much love, a brother, Bruce A. Hollinger of Lititz and a nephew, Doug Hollinger of Lititz.
