Meghan Elizabeth Keeney

Meghan Elizabeth Keeney, 17, beloved daughter of Robert C. Jr. and Wendi Nester Keeney of Lititz, died Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Lancaster General Hospital with her family by her side. Meghan was a junior at Warwick High School, and was a member of the field hockey and girls lacrosse teams. She played soccer from U6 to U14 for Lititz Youth soccer club. She was a member of the Warwick Honors Art Society, and PALS, a group that provided fun activities for the life skills students in the high school. She also helped coach for the Warwick Youth Field Hockey program. She worked part time at Moravian Manor and enjoyed making new friends with the residents. Meghan’s interests included salt water fishing, going to the beach at Ocean City, Maryland, and the Outer Banks, traveling to the family cabins in Philipsburg and Tunkhannock, and rooting for the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Dallas Cowboys. Meghan had a passion for music and was always dancing and singing. She had a smile and spark that would light up a room when she walked in and she always brought sunshine wherever she went. Meghan was deeply loved by her family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her parents, her two sisters: Allison Paige Keeney and Olivia Grace Keeney both at home, maternal grandmother, Elsa Dietrick Nester of Lititz, paternal grandparents: Robert Sr. and Gale Klinedinst Keeney, of Lititz, and paternal great grandmother, Emma Keeney of York. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Meghan’s Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving at the Lancaster Evangelical Free Church, LEFC, 419 Pierson Road, Lititz, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM; with additional visitation on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. Interment will be in Witness Park Cemetery, Lititz.
