Maxine C. Flory, 89 of Ephrata, and formerly of Lititz, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 13, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Ira and Cleo Strait Mellott. Maxine was the loving wife of the late Lloyd G. Flory who died in August of 2012. Throughout her life she helped her husband on the family farm. For many years she helped as a Veterinarian Technician for Dr. George Heisey Veterinary Practice in Lebanon. She later worked for Thomas Farm Market, Lititz. She was a member of the White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim. Her interests included: flower gardening, canning, and Blue Grass Music. Maxine was an experienced 4 H leader to youth in the Lititz area. She was known to present dairy cattle, beef cattle, and sheep, to the Pennsylvania Farm Show, and the Manheim Farm Show, where she was awarded numerous awards over the years.
Surviving are three daughters: Judy Moyer (John K. Sr.) of Annville, Nancy Brenner (William “Bill” Jr.) of Manheim, Jo Ann Zimmerman of Stevens, fourteen grandchildren: John K. Moyer Jr., Tonya Nagle (Terry), Tammy Byers (Douglas), Tiffany Coleman (Chase), Jay T. Zimmerman Jr., (Sarah), Jenniffer Oberholtzer (Burnell), James “Jimmy” Zimmerman ( Tara), Jayme, Josh, Jessica, Jade, Jason, Joe, Judy Zimmerman, sixteen great grandchildren: Maddy and Abby Byers, Sierra, Hannah, and Jake Zimmerman, Julia Sevilla, Ava, Brayden, Bryanna Zimmerman, Emma, Amanda, Katelyn, Allison Oberholtzer, Isaac Zimmerman, Hunter and Josiah Zimmerman. Preceding her in death are three sisters: Emmer Geib, Marden Geib, Thelma Kline, and three brothers: Ray, Chalmer, and Robert “Bobby” Mellott.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Maxine’s funeral service at the White Oak Church of the Brethren, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Monday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with additional viewing on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
