Maxie M. Williams, 77, of Mount Joy, died peacefully at her residence on Monday June 3, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was the widow of the late Arthur Ray Williams, Sr. who died in February 2013, and they celebrated 56 years of marriage in August 2012. Born in Jenkinjones, WV, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Buford Billips and the late Edna (Miller) Billips. Maxie was employed for over 25 years before retiring at Warner-Lambert Corp. in Lititz, and while she was there she helped develop new training manuals and traveled to Puerto Rico twice to help with the opening of a new plant. She was of protestant faith. Maxie was known for her southern cooking, especially her biscuits & gravy, and she enjoyed canning, but her passion in life was helping and loving her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews
Surviving is a daughter Teresa wife of Duane E. Lehman of Manheim; a son Jeffery husband of Lisa Williams of Mount Joy; daughter in-law Eileen Williams of East Petersburg; eight grandchildren Kristyn, Jason, Travis, Alina, Crissy Lynn, Timothy, Robert, and David; six great grandchildren; a brother Donald R. wife of Mozelle Billips of Fairdale, WV; two sisters Ilene Basham and Francis Vance both of North Tazewell, VA, and was loved by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son Arthur Ray Williams, Jr., a brother J. D. Billips, and four sisters Doris Brubaker, Viril Basham, Mary Lee Billips, and Pauline Ruth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 W. Main St. Mount Joy, PA on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. There will be a public viewing on Monday at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service.
