Mary Sue Vogel

February 9, 1922 — January 4, 2021

Mary "Sue" Vogel, 98, formerly of Lititz, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2020 at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Born in Conasauga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Harry D. and Margaret B. Dickey Townsend. She was the loving wife of the late Jack W. Vogel who passed away in 1997.

After two years of business school at Penn State, Sue was an administrative secretary for the University of Pittsburgh in Greensburg, later working for Southern Allegheny Planning and Development Commission in Altoona PA before retiring. She was a member of Lititz United Methodist Church. While raising her family in West Newton PA, Sue taught Sunday school and proudly served as a Girl Scout troop leader. Throughout her life, she was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Penn State fan. She enjoyed women's basketball, and watching her family participate in sporting events. Her favorite words to her family were "I love you, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck." Sue was a true blessing and will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Surviving are two daughters: Linda wife of James “Rocky” Watson, Manheim, and Carol wife of Larry Smith, Hampstead, NC; five grandchildren: Todd husband of Beth McCullough (Hampstead, NC), James husband of Amy Watson (Harrisburg, PA), Lindsey McCullough (Raleigh, NC), Kent husband of Julie McCullough (Loveland OH), and Matt husband of Nicole Watson (Elm, PA); nine great grandchildren: Landon, Cole, Aiden, Kye, Tess, Neely, Haddie, Jackson, and Kellen.
