Mary Stauffer Gochnauer

September 4, 1924 — April 24, 2013

Mary M. Stauffer Gochnauer, 88, of Manheim and formerly of Mount Joy passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Estella Pastorius Myers. She was the wife of the late Mervin H. Gochnauer, who died in 2008, and her first husband, Paul E. Stauffer, who died in 1975. Mary retired as a bank teller at the former Elizabethtown Trust Company. She also practiced reflexology. In her earlier years, Mary worked with her husband, Paul, on the family farm in Mount Joy Township. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren.

Surviving is a daughter, Judy, wife of James Bollinger of Manheim; four sons: David, husband of Beth Watto Stauffer, of Elizabethtown; John, husband of Marlene Harbold Stauffer, of Mount Joy; James Stauffer of Manheim; and Richard, husband of Brenda Crowe Stauffer, of Elizabethtown, stepson, Raymond, husband of Denise Hollinger Gochnauer, of Mount Joy; four stepdaughters: Lois, wife of Ronald Weaver, of Manheim; Barbara, wife of Harvey Heller, of Lancaster; Carol Morris of California; Thelma, wife of Michael Conklin, of Brickerville; a stepdaughter-in-law, Fannie Snader Gochnauer, of Conestoga; thirty-five grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Thomas Stauffer; two stepsons, Richard and Ronald Gochnauer; three sisters and three brothers.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private in West Green Tree Brethren Cemetery, Mount Joy Township. There will be a public viewing at Chiques Church of the Brethren on Friday evening from
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Immediately following the memorial service on Saturday, friends may visit with the family in the church family life center. There will be no viewing on Saturday.
