Mary S. Adamko, 84, formerly of Freehold, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Mennonite Home. Born in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Terisa Schaeffer. She was the loving wife of Theodore “Ted” Adamko and they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in September. Mary retired after 28 years as a service representative for the New Jersey Bell Telephone. She graduated in 1949 from Freehold High School in New Jersey; where she met the love of her life, Ted Adamko. Mary was a lifelong member of St. Rosa of Lima, Freehold, New Jersey and Sacred Heart of Lancaster. Her interests included gardening, knitting, crocheting, and reading. She also enjoyed helping as a Girl Scout leader and Den Mother for the Boy Scouts.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Donna wife of John DelCollo of Lancaster, four grandchildren, Nicholas Adamko, Jessica Elsbree, Jennifer and Amanda Hooven and a sister, Katherine Adamczyk of Adelphia, New Jersey. She was preceded by a son, Michael S. Adamko, brother, Lawrence Schaeffer and a sister, Anna Schaeffer.
Funeral Services and Interment are private and at the convenience of the family.
