Mary R. Walker

Mary R. Walker, 73, of Lititz, died peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Luther Acres Retirement Community. Born in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Idabelle Eldred Kahrs. Mary was the loving wife of the late James M. Walker Sr. who died in February of last year. For many years Mary helped her husband in the office with the family business known as Walco Truck Wash Service, Lititz. She also was employed in the window treatments section for over three years in the Home Furnishings Department for J.C. Penny Store, Lancaster. Mary had a life-long passion for her family that she loved deeply.

Surviving are sons: James M. Walker Jr., of Milford, Jeffrey A. husband of Lisa Walker of Bainbridge, and Alex Cho of Seoul, South Korea. Alex Cho became like a third son to Mary through a hosting program she and husband James Sr. participated with international students throughout the years. Also surviving is a grandson, Brett Walker, a brother, Frank husband of Alberta Kahrs of Ferndale, N.Y., a sister, Pearl Overacker of Ilion, N.Y., and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are five brothers and four sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a service to celebrate Mary’s life at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family following the service.
