Mary Katherine Anderson

Mary Katherine Anderson, 88, died peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, where she had resided for 22 years. Born in Queens, NY, Mary was the daughter of the late James and Mae Cosgrove. She was the wife of the late Herbert V. Anderson, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage before his death in 1997.

Mary was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster. Earlier in her career on Long Island, she had been a branch bank manager and an insurance/billing specialist for a dental practice. Upon retiring to Lancaster, Mary volunteered for a number of years at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital. She cherished her family and was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mary is survived by her daughter Linnea, wife of Franklin Lindeman of Sewickley, PA and her son Matthew Anderson of Delray Beach, FL. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Katherine, wife of Matthew Pickell, and Andrew, husband of Megan Lindeman, all of Pittsburgh. She lovingly leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Johanna and Franka Pickell, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, James and William Cosgrove and three sisters, Sally Brennan, Florence Huwel and Lillian Meagher.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 S. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM. There will be a time for visitation with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be immediately following the service in the church memorial garden.
