Mary I. Aument, 91, of Landisville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Harrison House, Christiana following a lengthy illness. She spent the last days surrounded by family and friends. Born in West Donegal Township, she was the daughter of the late Harvey S. and Margaret Nye Brenner. Mary was the wife of the late Charles E. Aument who passed away in 2007. Mrs. Aument was a member of the Donegal class of 1942. Mary and her husband were founding members of Chiques United Methodist Church, Mount Joy where she enjoyed many activities and programs over the years. She was employed by RCA for several years and by S. Clyde Weaver for over twenty years. Before retiring, she was recognized by Avon as a Top Sales Leader in her district for many years. Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing and entertaining in her home. Her flower gardens were in bloom in every season and one of her joys was sharing bulbs and seeds with her family and friends. One of her many joys was participating in arts and crafts activities, particularly with her grandchildren and she was well-known for her braided wool rug making. Her collection of over 300 dolls was clothed almost entirely by her own hand, either knitting, crocheting or with her excellent seamstress skills. Above all, “Nan” loved her children, grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mary spent her last days surrounded by family and friends, all who will remember her sweet smile and the twinkle in her blue eyes.
The family wishes to express appreciation to Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful support during the past year.
