Mary H. Wagner, 104, formerly of Fairland Road, Manheim, died peacefully and went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Emma B. Heisey Cassel; and the step daughter of the late Susan Gibble Cassel. A homemaker, Mary was the loving wife of the late Paul L. Wagner who died in April of 1997. She was a member of the White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim where she and Paul served as Deacons. Mary was active with the sewing circle at the church in her early years. Her interests included: sewing, crocheting, and flower gardening.
Surviving are three sons: Glenn E. husband of Bernice H. Minnich Wagner of Lititz, John C. husband of Joyce E. Miller Wagner of Manheim, Mark C. husband of Rita A. Hershey Wagner of East Petersburg, a son-in-law, David H. Minnich of Lititz, 14 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and a sister, Elizabeth H. Groff of Manheim. Preceding her in death are two daughters: Sara C. Lowry, Rachel C. Minnich, two great grandsons: Kyle Scott Wagner and Gavin Reid Wagner; two sisters: Martha H. Patches, Emma H. Caplinger, and three brothers: Jere H., David H. and Amos H. Cassel.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the White Oak Church of the Brethren, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 10:30 AM. There will be a viewing at the White Oak Church of the Brethren on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Longenecker’s Brethren Cemetery, Warwick Township.
