Mary F. "Toot" Evans, 84, of Manheim, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County Mount Joy after a six year courageous battle of multiple myeloma. Born in Elysburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank and M. Irene Persing Yocum. In her early years Mary worked for the former Manheim Garment Factory. She was the loving wife of Robert W. Evans and they observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in July of this year. Mary was a faithful member for over 50 years of Salem United Methodist Church Manheim; where she taught Sunday and bible school. She was an avid Manheim Central High School Barons sports fan where she enjoyed following the football and wrestling programs. She had a life-long passion for her family and enjoyed doing activities with them. Surviving is a daughter, Kay L. wife of Marlin J. Alleman of Manheim, a son, Mark R. husband of Marcia Blanck Evans of Lititz, two brothers: Robert husband of Lorraine Yocum of Harrisburg, and Chester husband of Amy Yocum of Elysburg. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Salem United Methodist Church 140 North Penn Street, Manheim on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Melinda L. McKonly officiating. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday morning from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 2:30 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim on Monday afternoon at 1:15 PM to leave in procession to Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
