Mary E. Stoltzfus, 90, of 567 Doe Run Road, Manheim, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, July 5, 2010. Born in East Lampeter Township, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Witmer Risser. Mary worked along side her husband on the family farm in Penn Township. In her earlier years she worked for the former Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital. She was a very hard working, loving and wonderful wife of Omar Z. Stoltzfus and they observed their 64th wedding anniversary in February of this year. Mary was a member of the Manheim Mennonite Church. Her interests included: gardening and reading. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends with delicious meals.
Surviving in addition to her husband, is a daughter, Susanna Sue wife of Paul R. Hemond of Lititz, Glenn O. Stoltzfus of Lititz, a grandson, Michael Hemond, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death is a sister, Mae Gerlach, and two brothers: Clarence and Roy Risser.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Manheim Mennonite Church, 201 West High Street, Manheim, on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Erb Mennonite Cemetery, Penn Township. There will be a public viewing at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
