Mary Jane Hess Breneman, 98, of Manheim, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Maple Farm, Akron. Born in Manheim Township on July 15,1925, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Mary (Buckwalter) Hess. She was a loving wife of Albert Breneman for 70 years until he passed away in 2017.
She was a nurturing mother of 7 daughters; Marcia Shantz (Carl) of Akron, Lucy Hiestand (Dale) of Bainbridge, Harriet Sauder (Leon) of Mt. Joy, Beth Yoder (Gary) of Lancaster, Kay Sinniger (Rodney) of Manheim, and Jan Weaver (Bruce) of Akron. She also treasured time spent with her 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was a devoted, hard-working farmer’s wife. She was also known for making delicious puddings and angel food cakes for Country Table Restaurant. She was a prayer warrior for the family and beyond and served faithfully at Erisman Mennonite Church. She enjoyed traveling, beach getaways, playing games, and being with her family.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Carol Bright and a grandson Devin Hiestand.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Crossings Community Church, 8 S. Erisman Road, Manheim, PA 17545. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those desiring can make contributions in Mary Jane’s memory to Mennonite Central Committee, 21 South 12th Street, P.O.
