Mary B. Hershey, 96, of Lititz, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Annie Bruckhart Garman. A homemaker, Mary was the loving wife of John H. Hershey and they observed their 70th wedding anniversary in March of this year. She was a member of the White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim. Mary enjoyed sewing and gardening throughout her life.
Surviving in addition to her husband John, are two daughters: Shirley A. wife of Benjamin H. Fisher, Karen E. wife of Dennis Shellenberger all of Manheim, a son, Barry L. husband of Marilyn Hershey of Lititz, a daughter-in-law, Linda Hershey of Mount Joy, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a brother, Jacob B. husband of Kathryn Garman of Lititz, and a sister, Esther B. Kreider of Lititz. Preceding her in death is a son, J. Marlin Hershey, two brothers: Martin B. Garman and Monroe B. Garman.
The Hershey Family wishes to thank the staff at United Zion Retirement Community, North Wing for the loving care and support given to Mary during her illness.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary’s funeral service at the White Oak Church of the Brethren, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Wednesday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM with additional viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Graybills Brethren Cemetery, Elm.
