Marlin R. "Dick" Hosler, 80, of Manheim, passed away peacefully Tuesday April 16th, 2024 at his residence after a battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Donna (Nissley) Hosler, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage on March 29th, 2024. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Marlin W. and Mae (Longenecker) Hosler. Dick was employed at Rapho Twp. for 44 years before retiring in 2011. He was a graduate of Manheim Central High School and Williamsport Technical School. Dick was a faithful member of East Fairview Church of the Brethren, Manheim, where he served as a deacon, an usher, and sang with the men’s choir, served on the Stewardship Committee, and participated in various work camps. He was also a lifetime member of Mastersonville Fire Company. His hobbies included woodworking, handyman, gardening, and going to sales, but what brought him the greatest pleasure was attending his grandchildren's many activities and sporting events.
Surviving in addition to his wife Donna are two sons Douglas husband of Beth (Hamaker) Hosler, Manheim, Dennis husband of Audrey (Ebersole) Hosler, Lititz; a daughter Dione wife of Boonta Kheuangthirath, Manheim and his 8 grandchildren (John, Trevor, Maddie, Evan, Lexi, Kiley, Ellis and Rowan); two brothers Robert husband of Sandra Hosler, Sarver, Randy husband of Sandy Hosler, Manheim; and two sisters Mary Ann wife of Delbert Kautz, Millersville, and Janice Marie wife of Gary Shenk, Manheim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother Ray.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Celebration of Life service at East Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, on Sunday the 28th of April, 2024 at 2:00 pm. There will be a time of visitation with the family immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Interment in Chiques Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
