Maria Elizabeth Nolt, 92, affectionately known by her family as “Auntie”, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday August 15, 2014 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, where she was a resident. Born in W. Hempfield Twp., she was the daughter of the late Samuel B. and Fannie (Musser) Nolt. “Auntie” was employed as a buyer at the former Watt & Shand Dept. Store of Lancaster for 39 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Lancaster where she had been a Sunday school teacher for 25 years, a choir member, vacation bible school teacher, and a member of the Young at Heart seniors group. “Auntie” enjoyed gardening and her cats.
Surviving is a brother Samuel M. Nolt of Mount Joy; a nephew Larry E. Nolt (Lonnie) of Lancaster; two nieces, Janis Bell (Richard) of York, Karen Bartnick (Donald) of Edgewater, MD; two great nephews, two great nieces; and one great-great nephew. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John Nolt, a sister Anna Ruth Hepler; a nephew Douglas Hepler; and a niece Susan Nolt.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Hoffer Auditorium, 544 N. Penryn Rd. Manheim PA on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment in Silver Spring Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions in Maria’s memory may be sent to Pleasant View Retirement Community, Benevolent Care Endowment Fund, 544 N. Penryn Rd. Manheim PA 17545.
