Peggy Gergely, 65 of Manheim, formerly of Morgantown WV, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Patrick P. Gergely, celebrating 42 years of marriage. Born in Pittsburgh, PA she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Margaret (Nee) Hennigan. She received her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Education from West Virginia University, and served as a dedicated teacher with Monongalia County Schools, and as a Religious Educator Director at the former St. Theresa Catholic Church in Morgantown. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Lititz, and the Red Rose Quilting Club, Lancaster.
In addition to her loving husband Pat, Peggy is survived by her son Steven, husband of Colleen Gergely, Manheim; her daughter Karen Gergely, Lamoni, IA; two grandchildren Julia & Patrick; her brother Thomas husband of Barbara Hennigan, Delmont PA; and two sisters Mary Ann Meissner, Pittsburgh; and Patty wife of Ken Crawford, Ft. Lauderdale FL.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Mass for Peggy at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, Lititz PA on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM, with Rev. James O’Blaney C.Ss.R officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at a luncheon in the St. James Parish Hall.
