Margaret L. “Peggy” Saulina, 102, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2022 at Luther Acres, Lititz. Born in Jersey City, NJ she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anita Guy. She was the loving wife of Joseph R. Saulina for 54 years before his death in 2001.
Peggy was raised in Ramsey, NJ, and was a graduate of Ramsey high School and Ridgewood Secretarial School. She was employed as Scientific Assistant to Dr. Mont A. Cazier in the entomology Dept. at The American Museum of Natural History. She very much enjoyed her time working in New York City. Her love of New York remained throughout her life, and those memories always brought a special sparkle to her eyes. While working at the Museum she met her future husband Joe, who was also employed there. During their marriage they lived in Bergenfield and River Vale, NJ before retiring to Toms River, NJ and then to Luther Acres, Lititz.
Peggy was voracious reader of all subject matter, and a talented writer as well. She especially enjoyed being outdoors in nature, as well as sewing, baking, vacations in Florida and the Jersey Shore, and those precious times spent with family.
Peggy was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Westwood, NJ and served on the Altar Guild there. She also volunteered at Dr. David Goldberg Child Care Center in Westwood, NJ and at Second Time Around Thrift Shop, benefitting Community Medical Center of Toms River, NJ. She had a lovely personality and a wonderful sense of humor that was a gift to her family and friends. Her daughters, will always cherish the lifetime they had together with her. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are daughters, Joanne wife of John Eshelman of Manheim and Louise Saulina-Reichert wife of Paul Reichert of Bainbridge, a grandson, Richard husband of Nicole Reichert of Jersey City, NJ. Other surviving family include, Sheri Bender, Alicia wife of Paul Weibley, Briona Eshelman, Joey Bender, Mackenzie Bender, Olivia Weibley and Oliver Weibley all of Lancaster County. In addition to her husband and parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother Warren Guy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Peggy’s Funeral Service at Luther Acres Chapel, 600 East Main Street, Lititz, on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private immediately following the service.
