M. Fern Fisher

M. Fern Fisher, 77, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Moravian Manor, Lititz. Born in East Donegal Township, she was the daughter of the late John K. and Marie C. Ruhl Fisher. Fern was a faithful and lifetime member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim. She was a 1959 graduate of Donegal High School. Fern was a bookkeeper for the former Slaymaker Lock Company, Lancaster and the former Compass Quarry, Kinzers. She enjoyed playing volleyball, softball and was a member of the P.A. Senior Women’s Softball team and the Agri-King Softball team.

Surviving are two brothers, Allen R. husband of Lois Fisher of Fairview, David E. husband of Mary Ann Fisher of Salunga, a sister, Doris E. Heffner of Reading, nieces and nephews: Lucille Fisher, Michelle Miller, Jared Fisher, Mary Beth Fisher, Sarah Fisher, and Lydia Fisher, one great niece, Kiersten Miller, one great nephew, Robert Miller and one great great nephew, Gavin Faust. She was preceded in death by two nephews, Dale Fisher, Michael Miller and two brothers-in-law, Robert Miller Jr. and Martin Heffner Jr.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Fern’s funeral service at Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
