Luther W. Yerger, 93, of the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown PA, and formerly of Shillington, died Wednesday July 4, 2012 at the Masonic Health Care Center, Elizabethtown. He was the husband of Mary (Zimmerman) Yerger who died in 2010. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Warren and Bertha (Johnson) Yerger. Luther proudly served his country during WW II with the 95th Infantry of the U. S. Army, and was awarded the Purple Heart. Luther was a leadman for the Polymer Corporation. He attended the Methodist Church in Reading, and also the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel in Elizabethtown. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, and enjoyed traveling and gardening. Surviving is a daughter Pat Yerger, grandchildren Tim and Stephanie, Step-daughter Joan wife of Edward Rotheram of Pittsburgh, and three step-granddaughters Mary Jo, Anne, and Carrie. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Luther's memorial service at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, 1 Masonic Dr. Elizabethtown, PA on Saturday July 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Private interment will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
