Lucille M. Rothermel, 85, of Lititz, died peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Luther Acres, Lititz. Born in Kutztown, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Carrie (Kistler) Dietrich. A homemaker, she was the loving wife of the late Richard C. Rothermel who died in June of 2010.
Lucille was a 1949 graduate of Kutztown High School. She was an active and faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill; and previously was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fleetwood, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ephrata.
Lucille’s life was filled by her sincere desire to help others as demonstrated by her volunteer work with organizations such as the Berks Literacy Council, and her church. Lucille’s life was always centered around her family and she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed writing, bicycling, and dancing.
Surviving are three sons: Alan, husband of Debra L. Rothermel of Lititz; Bryan, husband of Debra Rothermel of Fleetwood; Mark, husband of Elizabeth Rothermel of Etters, and eight grandchildren. Preceding her in death are two sisters: Alma Daws and Gladys Rutter.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lucille’s memorial service at Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill, 26 Owl Hill Road, Lititz, on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
