Lorraine Mae Wood Cook, 87, of Elizabethtown, and formerly of York, died Friday December 16, 2011 at the Masonic Village Health Care Center, Elizabethtown. She was the wife of the late Ralph O. Wood, and the late Carl C. Cook. Born in York she was the daughter of the late Russell E. and Nora M. (Kunkel) Meisenhelter. She was a self-employed hairstylist in the York area for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church of York. Lorraine enjoyed playing golf, and was a member of the Outdoor Country Club of York. In her earlier years she was an avid tennis player. She will always be known as a loving and caring lady to her family and friends. Surviving is a son, Michael husband of Maggie Wood, a daughter Lynn Wood, both of York; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by a sister Joyce Meisenhelter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market Street, York, on Wednesday December 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Kevin Shively officiating.
