Lorraine G. “Rainy” Miller, 85, of Manheim, died peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late J. Homer and Lizzie Wiest Graybill. Rainy worked for the Manheim Auto Auction for 55 Years; she was also employed at the former Poser’s Store at Park City, and the former Donecker’s of Ephrata. She was the owner and operator of the former Dutch Terrace Gift Shop. Rainy was the loving wife of Jere A. Miller and they observed their 65th wedding anniversary in June of 2013. Lorraine was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. She and her husband were members of the Silver Threads Group in Lancaster. Rainy enjoyed going to Bethany Beach with her sisters; of the five girls, she was known as the “Queen.” She also loved gardening, taking photos, and traveling to Deep Creek Lake in Western MD.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son Steven E. Miller companion of Nancy Zentner of Mercersburg, daughter, Claudia M. wife of Mark P. Will of Manheim, two grandsons, Derek & Austin, four sisters, Lucille “Louie” Buckwalter of Lititz, Helen Brown of Hollidaysburg, Marian wife of Larry King of Manheim, Darlene “Dolly” wife of Chuck Thompson of Lititz, a brother, Robert “Bob” husband of Julie Graybill of Lititz and a sister-in-law, Ann Graybill of Manheim. She was preceded in death by a brother, J. Clair Graybill.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
