Loretta M. Steiner, 80, formerly of 68 North Clay Street, Manheim, passed away on Thursday October 11, 2012 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Louise Felker Zug. She was the loving wife of the late Benjamin Steiner Jr, who passed away in 2008. Loretta was an Avon lady for over forty years and also worked in the Manheim Central School District cafeteria for fifteen years. She was an active and faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she served on the administrative board, council of ministries, and many committees. Loretta was a Sunday school teacher at the church for 26 years, where she taught second grade. She was a member of Farm Women #2 of Manheim and the Manheim Historical Society, where she served as president for both organizations. Loretta was a member of the Walking Wanders Group, and The Jaycee Janes. She was active in scouting in the Manheim area, where she served as Den mother for the Cub Scout Troop. Her interests included flower and vegetable gardening, reading, home sewing, making teddy bears, and going to Ship Bottom. Surviving are two sons, Kerry B. Steiner of Rockford, Il and D. Michael Steiner of Manheim, a daughter, Linda M. Steiner of Manheim, one granddaughter, Jennifer Steiner Masood of Pakistan, three great grandchildren, Shamoon, Abdullah and Sharjeel Masood, a sister, Betty Good of Bowmansville, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ron "Zuggy" Zug and Ray Zug. The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View Retirement Community for the loving care they gave their mother. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service from the Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Monday October 15, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be at Chiques Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a public viewing on Monday morning at Hoffer Auditorium from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
