Lois Jean “Toots” Webb Hackenberger, 81, of Palmer/ Wasilla, Alaska, passed away after a lengthy battle with COPD on Sunday, December 14, 2014 in Wasilla, AK. Born in Conewago Township, she was the daughter of the late, Charles and Miriam Gainer Webb. Lois Jean was the wife of the late Paul Hackenberger. She and her family moved to Alaska in the year 1970 where she worked as a cook at Elmendorf AFB until moving to Naknak, and then to Eagle River. Lois Jean and her husband, Paul, owned and operated Hacks Guide Service in the Talkeetna/Trapper Creek area for many years before moving back to Pennsylvania a few years ago, where her husband Paul passed away. She then returned to the Anchorage area, then finally to the Palmer/Wasilla areas to be near her children. Lois Jean will be missed by her loved ones and the many friends she made along her way.
Surviving are four sons: Jimmy husband of Alma Hackenberger of Palmer, AK, Dennis husband of Jean Hackenberger of Anchorage, AK, Jeri Hackenberger of Anchorage, AK, Lee husband of Deb Hackenberger of Chugiak, AK, a daughter, Jill wife of Brian Brett of Willow, AK, a sister, Theresa wife of Ken Newcomer of Mount Joy, a brother, Jim husband of Vicky Webb of Manheim, three granddaughters: Stacy, Holly, Shelby and a grandson, Paul. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is a sister, Nancy Webb and three brothers, Charles “Buddy”, Nelson, and Dick Webb.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Her ashes will be scattered at a later date in the Talkeetna area; where she will be joined, once again, with her husband Paul, for eternity.
