Lois Jean Balmer, 71, of Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Samuel P. and Verna Huber Lehman. Jean was the loving wife of Cletus L. Balmer and they would have observed their 51st wedding anniversary in April of this year. Throughout her life Jean helped her husband on the family farm where she cared for all the farm animals especially the dairy cows that she loved. She was an active and faithful member of East Fairview Church, Manheim. Her interests included: knitting, flower gardening, and tending to her beautiful house plants. Jean had a deep passion for her family, and cherished all the time she could spend with her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Cletus, are two daughters: Melanie wife of Christopher Hackett, Marsha wife of Keith Pickel, a son, Michael A. husband of Stephanie Balmer all of Manheim, seven grandchildren: Claire, Cara, Dalton, Karley, Kody, Ryan, Kyle, a sister, Carol wife of Stan Grube of Lititz, and three brothers: Samuel Lehman of Manheim, Ray Lehman of Lancaster, and Glenn husband of Tricia Lehman of Lititz. Preceding her in death is a sister, Mildred Lehman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jean’s Funeral Service at the East Fairview Church, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
