Linda Lou Rannels, 70, of Columbia and formerly of Manheim passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late David and Ruth Ashenfelter Rosser. She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth B. Rannels who died in 2006. Linda graduated from Donegal High School in 1964 and received her Master’s Degree from Myerstown Evangelical Seminary and completed her undergraduate degree from West Chester University. She retired as the director of Shared Ride Services at Red Rose Transit, Lancaster. Linda was a member of Hosanna Christian Fellowship, Lititz. She volunteered for Hospice & Community Care and enjoyed mission work in Guatemala. An adventure enthusiast, Linda loved traveling, reading, knitting, gardening and learning in all forms.
Surviving is a daughter, Amber wife of Courteney Haas of Columbia, brother, David husband of Christine Rosser of Maytown, a sister, Janell wife of Verle Nolt of Conestoga. She is also survived by her companion, Ernie Passarelli of Philadelphia. Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Houdeshel.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Hosanna Christian Fellowship, 29 Green Acre Road, Lititz on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Ruhl’s United Methodist Cemetery, Rapho Township.
