Lester M. Harnly, 92, formerly of Elwyn Terrace, Manheim, died peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Penn Township, he was the son of the late David and Lillian Snyder Harnly. From 1939 to 1989 Lester was a technician for the former Sauder Chevrolet Manheim. He was the husband of Mary E. Denlinger Harnly who died in 2001. Lester was an active and faithful member of the Manheim Mennonite Church and was ordained Deacon in 1959 serving the church for forty years; he also was Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, Church Treasurer, and taught Sunday School . Surviving are three sons: Larry husband of Marian Nissly Harnly of East Petersburg, Philip husband of Darlene Heller Harnly of Ephrata, Kenneth Harnly of Manheim, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two brothers: Jacob husband of Jeanette Harnly of Lititz, Raymond husband of Judy Harnly of Lancaster. Preceding him in death is a son, Clifford Harnly, a brother, David Harnly, and two sisters: Dorothy Hart and Barbara Harnly. Funeral services will be at the Manheim Mennonite Church 201 West High Street, Manheim on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Erb Mennonite Cemetery, Lititz. There will be a viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
