Lester L. “Pappy” Brumbach, 83, of Lancaster, and formerly of Manheim, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 4, 2019. Born in Elizabeth Township, he was the son of the late Hiram S. and Elizabeth Shealer Brumbach. Lester was the loving husband of Shirley A. Nauman Brumbach and they observed their 57th wedding anniversary in October of last year. For over 48 years Lester worked faithfully at Fenner Drives, Manheim. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army. Lester was an active member of Chiques United Methodist Church where he served as head usher and money counter. He enjoyed wood working throughout the years and had a real passion for cooking on the grill. Lester cherished the time that he spent with his family and was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He faithfully attended sporting and school events of his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife Shirley, is a son, Marc A. Brumbach of Cumming, GA., a daughter, Marcia A. wife of Jeff Fuhrman of Mount Joy, three grandchildren: D.J. Fuhrman, Rachel Fuhrman, Emily Fuhrman, and two sisters: Verna Munden of Ephrata, and Miriam Spotts of Lititz. Preceding him in death are six brothers and seven sisters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lester’s funeral service at Chiques United Methodist Church, 1215 East Main Street, Mount Joy, on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in East Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township.
