Lester B. Nauman, 83, of Manheim, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Magnolias of Lancaster with loving care provided by Grane Hospice Care. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Romanus M. and Fannie Baker Nauman. He was the loving husband of Rose Schmid Nauman, and they observed their 59th wedding anniversary June of this year. Lester was the owner and operator of the family farm in Rapho Township, where he raised trophy winning steers. He retired as a maintenance machinist for Warner Lambert Company, of Lititz, where he worked for 38 years. Lester enjoyed working with machinery and could take apart and rebuild anything. He was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim. Lester also enjoyed hunting and taking walks in the woods where he could identify all the different types of trees.
Surviving in addition to his wife Rose, are three daughters: Elaine wife of Roger Sloat of Manheim, Patricia A. wife of Mark Ihm of Kutztown, Beverly wife of Dennis Snavely of Manheim, a son, Thomas E. husband of Lindsey A. Nauman of Manheim, eight grandchildren, three brothers: Paul Nauman of Manheim, Abner Nauman of Lititz, Richard husband of Lucetta Nauman of Penn Yan, NY, a sister, Miriam Kready of Myerstown, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are three brothers: Omar, Romanus Jr. and Eugene Nauman, and a sister Naomi Bricker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim, on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Monday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, with additional viewing on Tuesday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Lester’s memory may be sent to Magnolias of Lancaster, 1870 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
