Leona C. Rhodes, 91, of Middletown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at her residence. She was the widow of the late W. Kenneth Rhodes who died in 1967. Born in Concord, NH, she was the daughter of the late Leon S. and Bernice (Adams) Clay. Leona was part owner and chef at the currently operating Goodville House Restaurant in Middletown, until her retirement in 2011. She was a member of Bressler Bible Church where she was the former choir director and a soloist. She was past president of the West Shore D.A.R. Leona was gifted with a love for music and enjoyed sharing her talents as a piano teacher, and a professional entertainer, but her greatest joy was singing and directing choirs at various churches. Surviving are three sons, Duane husband of Paula (Dincher) Rhodes of Middletown, Jeffrey husband of Laura (Lions) Rhodes of Middletown, Gary K. Rhodes of Camp Hill; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister Harryette Adams. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her graveside service at Gettysburg National Cemetery (National Cemetery Dr. entrance, off of Taneytown Rd.) on Wednesday January 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M.
