Larry L. Ziegler, 77, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was born in Red Lion, PA, the son of the late Ivan and Mabel Stein Ziegler. After graduating from Red Lion High School, he attended Lebanon Valley College, majoring in Business Administration and Accounting. Larry began his accounting career at Klein Chocolate Company in Elizabethtown. He later joined National Bearings Co., Lancaster where he was appointed Assistant Treasurer. In 1973, Larry became Controller, Board member and Secretary of Kunzler and Company in Lancaster. Later he was named Controller of Aggregates Equipment, Inc. of Leola. He retired from there in 2012. He served in the PA National Guard for six years. Larry was active in the Manheim Lions Club for which he served as President and was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award for service in 2006. He was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim. Besides spending time with his family, one of Larry’s greatest joys was trout fishing in local streams. He was a faithful fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Manheim Barons football team.
He met his wife of 54 years while attending Lebanon Valley College. He and Mary Ellen (Risser) Ziegler were married in the college chapel in 1959. They have a daughter Amy, married to Brad Arndt of Manheim. Larry was the loving grandfather to Emily and Alison Arndt. Also, surviving is his brother Dale E. husband of Faye H. Ziegler of Lancaster. Preceding him in death was a brother, Albert E. Ziegler.
